Gingerbread Houses

Gingerbread Houses

Ingredients

For the cookies, you need the ingredients below,

2 1/2 – 3 cups (tea) flour
1/2 cup (tea) brown sugar
3/4 cup (tea) honey
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 egg
1 1/2 teaspoon ginger
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon clove
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup butter

For the royal icing, you need the ingredients below,

2 eggs only the white
4 – 5 cups powdered sugar

Execution

First you need to make some patterns from cardboard in order to use them to shape the house parts. Cut 4 equal rectangular pieces, 2 for the roof and 2 for the sides. Then cut 2 more rectangular pieces (triangle on the top) one for the front and one for the back side of the house.

Mix all the ingredients together until you get a soft dough, open a large enough sheet and try to cut into house parts using the patterns. Bake in oven at 180 degrees for 10-15 minutes. Let them dry and then use the royal icing in order to glue them each other. Feel free and decorate with some candies or royal icing. That’s it the Gingerbread Houses are ready to decorate your place.
